Because I like to talk, damn me. :P

I'll make my lil' admission. I haven't actually touched chapter eight in about five days, since my mom and brother were visiting. Long story short, it was an awesome visit, I got an official MLB baseball from the Seattle Mariners (vs. Texas Rangers, we lost, damned Texas) game we went to and a bruise from trying frantically to catch it (it's officially the ugliest and largest I've ever had, and in a weird coincidence, is the size and placement that the lightning scar on Kailas's thigh, just on my left instead of the right), and we just generally had funsies. So--very little touching of the laptop.

Side note: rediscovering your love for certain anime kinda sucks, since I have to repurchase everything and I'll be needing to pack them away soon anyhow. (Further sidenote: Rebuild of Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone is so damn sweet, and I can't stop listening to the soundtrack. Viva EM21 Premix #070705! Go listen to it. I don't care how you find it, just listen to it--the fight against the diamond angel song! It's so appropriate for--things!)

Now, for chapter eight. I realized that I had never actually counted how many events I have planned, even though they're all sitting staring me lovely in the face in a .txt file I keep perpetually open...along with one other with special scenes I had to write because they were tormenting me. So tonight I finally did, with the intent of just knowing sort of where I was because I hadn't been writing.

Current page count for chapter eight: forty, about to roll to forty-one. Current event placement: beginning of event number six. Total number of events planned (subject to change): eleven.

...

*sigh*

Before anyone asks, no, I will not be separating any of the later events out into their own chapter. I explained to someone in comments that chapters solidify in my head as certain events, and chapter eight is no different. It just proved to have so much more than I was expecting. It doesn't quite help that I've been in my summer mood lately. I get it every year during the summer, and so get cranky and annoyed with everything, and thus writing suffers a slowdown. Predictably, just as I'm burrowing my way into this chapter and finding more and more things that I hadn't expected. (That happens every chapter!)

I'm just trying to make sure everything comes at its own pace and make sure it's right. That usually makes it go better, and it helps me see if I screwed anything up when I do my usual rereading when I reopen the document. It's one of those things that I'm able to see a whole lot of things, but it's all coming very fast and very brief. One scene shows up, then another, then an idea to further clarify an idea, then something that I realize after some thought... And it's quite often a rare thing that any of that is particularly in the scene I'm trying to work on.

So. I guess I'm trying to explain myself, as I often do, and trying to just chat up folks in my hermit-like manner here to get my moods a little more up and my brain a lil' more focused.

...Er... So how are you folks doing? I hope things have been treating you all well. :)
